Citywide Litter Pick Up Day – Saturday, April 17, 2021, 8 am - Noon
Grab your family and friends and pick up litter in your own neighborhood or go anywhere in the City you see a need! We also encourage church or community groups to adopt an area. Thank you for helping us keep Lewiston clean & beautiful!
REGISTRATION/WAIVER: Volunteers will use an online form for individuals or groups to register and agree to event waiver, as well as identify location to be cleaned. Register & Agree to Waiver Here
SUPPLIES: Lewiston Public Works staff will be on site at Kennedy Park on event day from 8 am – noon to distribute supplies: bags, gloves, pickers, buckets.
SAFETY: A safety procedure flyer will be given out with supplies to ensure COVID19 & overall safe practices for participation. Safety Flyer Also Available Here. In addition, a safety station pop-up tent will be on site at Kennedy Park.
UNSAFE ITEMS FOR PICK-UP: Unsafe items for pick up should be “called into” Public Works Dispatch for same-day pick up by trained personnel (207) 513-3000, X3450.
WHERE TO DISPOSE OF LITTER:
- Bags of collected litter may be returned to Kennedy Park for disposal at a drop-off site near park gazebo.
- Public Works will pick up bags of litter at a specified location if previously stated on online registration/waiver form OR called into Dispatch the morning of the event (207) 513-3000, X3450.
- Residents may put collected bags of litter at curbside with their regular weekly curbside pick up.
PRIZE CATEGORIES FOR TEAMS: To be eligible to win a prize, teams are encouraged to post pictures of their team picking up litter & use a #nolitter tag! Prize Categories: Biggest Team, Most Creative, Most Colorful!
