UPDATE: Forthcoming Water Main Replacement Projects

WATER IMPACT? Any water impacts are typically one day (less than 8 hours) to make the final connection to the new pipe.  In many cases, the shut-down is less than one hour if only required to connect an individual service.  Twenty-four-hour notice is provided door-to-door prior to scheduled shut-downs.  Emergency shut-downs are possible if something breaks unexpectedly, but that is not very common.

Sabattus St Water Main Phase 4/5:  St Laurent and Son has completed installing 3,400 feet of new 12-inch water main out of a total 5,850 feet.  They will be connecting services up to Fox Run Drive next week, paving up to there, then continue to Bradbury Rd.  The entire project should be completed by the end of August.

North Temple St and Old Greene Rd:  St. Laurent and Son will be starting work on the North Temple St project July 8th with some mobilization work already taking place. This project involves replacement of the water main for the entire length of North Temple St and Old Greene Rd from North Temple to Peter Blvd.  It includes drainage work on North Temple, stripping and repaving the entire road and sidewalk.  It incorporates some additional striping and signage near the school, a flush concrete island at the school entrance, landscaping the islands at Old Greene Rd and coordination with the new fire station to be built.  The section from Old Greene Rd to Ann St is to be completed before school opens at the end of August.  Work will continue toward Sabattus St and up Old Greene Rd this fall and next spring.  The entire project is to be completed by summer 2020.

2019 Water Main Replacement and Road Rehab: Glidden Excavating and Paving will be starting work on this project July 8th.  This project will begin with a new water main on Morris Ave between Brault St and Dingley St.   Work will then move to Stanley St, then Campus Ave between East and Sabattus, then Newman St. These streets will include new water mains and full width paving.  Campus Ave includes new curb and sidewalk.  The project will be completed this fall.

Lincoln St and Water St:  Beginning next week with night work, St. Laurent and Son will be replacing via pipe bursting a cross-country water main between Lincoln St and Water St near Atlas Supply.  This project will only take about one week to complete. Soon after, Glidden Excavating and Paving will be milling and paving Lincoln St from Main St to Cedar St.
